Forgotten Harvest - Community Choice Market/Mobile Market

  • Basic Needs

Who We Are

We are dedicated to relieving hunger in metro Detroit and preventing nutritious food waste. Provide food for emergency food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless and domestic shelters, children’s homes, senior centers and group homes.

Forgotten Harvest collects surplus, prepared and perishable food from a variety of sources such as grocery stores, restaurants, caterers, dairies, farmers, wholesale food distributors, and other Health Department-approved sources.

What We Do

Forgotten Harvest’s Client Choice Pantry will allow those in need to select their own food instead of receiving a prepacked or standard bag of groceries. With this method, those in need do not have to take items they already have, do not like, or cannot eat for health or personal reasons. A Client Choice Pantry can help to provide clients with a sense of dignity and respect.

Volunteers are needed to help assist clients in their shopping and other general needs while at the pantry. Volunteers may also be needed to help keep shelves full and stocked so Clients are provided with all food options.
