DRESS CODE
While we suggest long pants/sleeves due to skin irritation that comes from reaching into plants/grasses, our first priority is the safety and comfort of our volunteers. There are days where we are in high heat/humidity with not much shade. That being said, we have NEVER turned anyone away for wearing shorts. Below is a list of REQUIRED and SUGGESTED dress items to keep in mind:
REQUIRED ~ NO open toe shoes ~ NO slip on shoes ~ NO tank tops
SUGGESTED ~ Hat, lightweight long sleeve shirt or jacket, rain gear, BOOTS or shoes you don't mind getting wet/muddy!
The weather is always changing and it can be 30 degrees when we start in the morning and 80 by the time we are done. Layers are always a great way to prepare.
*We supply ICE-WATER, GLOVES, BUG SPRAY and SUNSCREEN* If you'd like to bring water to donate that is always appreciated! Also, feel free to bring snacks for breaks.
If you are allergic to anything you may come into contact with at the farm (bees, for example) and require the use of an Epi-Pen, bring your Epi-Pen with you and inform farm staff of your needs.
